Bommarito, Brown, Austin among this week's signings
5/14 - Three top 40 recruits signed this
week led by the 18th and 25th ranked
recruits in the state, Jeremy
Bommarito of Hartland and Deven
Brown of Carleton Airport. Bommarito
signed with North Idaho while Brown will
be staying close to home at Eastern
Michigan. Bommarito and Brown won
the Division 1 and 2 state titles this
year at 145lbs, respectively, and are slated be facing off at the MWA Classic next month. Division 1 state runner up Jeremiah Austin of Westland John Glenn also recently signed with Michigan State University. Muskegon Community College and coach Ron Gaffner have been busy on the recruiting scene as well as they received over a dozen commitments for next year. Border Wars offering many summer events...
Since Border Wars Wrestling began their series in the Spring of 2003, wrestling in the off season months has exploded in Michigan and across the Midwest states. This has been a blessing to those wrestlers who seek and love the taste of competition. The wrestlers who have taken advantage of these opportunities have since flourished into some of Michigan's elite prep wrestlers.
Michigan preps earn top national rankings
Dubose tops InterMat's final All-Class Rankings
5/10 - InterMat released their final All-Class national rankings this week, which include the top 20 preps in the country across all 4 grade levels (9-12). 11 total Michigan wrestlers made the rankings, including Marcel Dubose who landed the top spot at 215lbs. Lowell sophomore Jackson Morse and Rockford junior Kyle Waldo were the only Michigan underclassmen in the rankings. Click more to view the full rankings.
