Suitor makes college plans, ready to move forward with Senior season
9/28 - Since arriving at Swan Valley High
School a little over three years ago, BJ
Suitor's wrestling career has been marked
by defining moments. Whether it was
capping off his Freshman season with a
perfect 60-0 record and his first state
championship, avenging what was then the
only loss of his career by defeating Chris
Rau in an overtime thriller to win his 2nd
state title, or polishing off his 3rd state title
with dominance last March, Suitor's career
has been a highlight reel to this point.
Well now Suitor can add another clip to his
reel as he announced over the weekend
that he has made his college plans by
giving a verbal commitment to Boston
University, where he plans on wrestling
125lbs for the Terriers.
Suitor said that Central Michigan, Stanford,
Bucknell, and Bloomsburg were all
among his top choices as well, however, in
the end Boston was the best fit.
"I chose Boston University for the coaches, wrestlers, academic reputation, and the city of Boston," said Suitor, who also mentioned that his sister currently lives nearby in New York, which will give him some nearby family.
Accoriding to Suitor, he does not plan on redshirting and looks forward to the chance of competeting right away for Boston, however, he still has some work to do this year as he looks to become just the 16th Michigan prep wrestler to win 4 State Championships this year.
"The thought of winning my 4th state title makes me feel honored to be listed among such a prestigous group of wrestlers," mentioned Suitor, " And signing early is one less thing to concern myself with in my senior year."
Suitor, who is the #7 ranked recruit in Michigan according to our Recruiting Rankings, says he plans on majoring in Business, and had some people he wanted to thank.
"I would like to thank God and all the wonderful people who helped me over the years. Their support really pushed me to better myself."
Suitor is the 4th Top 10 recruit in Michigan to give his committment this fall, following Jackson Morse (#1-Illinois), Mike Curby (#4-Eastern Michigan), and Nick McDiarmid (#6-Michigan State). Go to our Recruiting Central to stay up to speed with all the happenings in the recruiting world.
