Weaver wins Cadet Greco National Title

7/16 - The Cadet Greco-Roman National Championships
wrapped up today in Fargo with 4 Michigan Cadets earning
All-American status.

Hudson sophomore Cole Weaver won the 126lb Cadet Greco
National Title with a 3-0, 5-0 win over FILA Cadet National
Champ Seth Gross of Minnesota.  Weaver was dominant
throughout the two days of competetion, going 9-0 while
only surrendering a point in one of his matches.  For Weaver,
it was his 3rd Cadet All-American honor after finishing 4th in
both styles last year in Fargo.

Tecumseh 8th grader Landon Pelham made an impressive
Fargo debut, cruising to a 4-0 record in his pool to advance
to the 195lb finals.  Pelham did not lose a single period en
route to the finals, but gave up a first period fall to Minnesota
Prep State Champ Lance Benick in the finale.  Benick, the
#12 ranked pound-for-pound incoming sophomore in the
country, caught Pelham in a early headlock in the first
period to score the fall.

Also earning All-American status was a pair of stud freshman
placing at 170lbs.  Angus Arthur of St Johns and Ty Wildmo of Davison finished 4th and 7th respectively.

Junior Greco-Roman action got underway today in Fargo and will wrap up tommorow with the Finals going down at 3:15 EST.  Check back for a recap of the Junior Greco Tournament.
