Overview – An event to showcase graduating seniors and honor various people for their accomplishments and/or contributions to the sport of wrestling in Michigan. This event will be a dual meet between wrestlers from various high school Division classifications and a time for the MWA to present its various awards that might not be seen on a State Level.
Date/Time – Wednesday, June 18, 2008. Introductions 6:30 Start time 7:00.
Location – Hartland High School
Participation – All graduated seniors would be eligible to participate. Wrestlers must be nominated by their coach to participate. Coach must be a MWA member. (click nomination form below to view)
Selection – After wrestlers are nominated by their coaches, a selection committee will select the two teams and split them as evenly as possible. *More than 28 wrestlers may participate.
Event – One Dual meet with awards presented prior to the meet and at the conclusion of the event.
Coaches – Chosen by a selection committee with two coaches coaching each team.
Weigh-in – One weigh-in with a ten pound allowance at 10:00 AM with lunch to follow. Each team will receive lunch after weigh-in and workout with their team coaches throughout the afternoon. Also college coaches will be on hand to discuss the difficult transition from high school to college.
Practices – Optional practices will be held Hartland High School, Tuesday nights 6-7:30 throughout May and June.
