Three Michigan youths win USAW Kids Double Titles

7/5 - A group of Michigan youths traveled to Orem, Utah last week for USA Wrestling's Asics Kids Nationals, which feature all youth divisions, Bantam thru Schoolboy, competing for Freestyle and Greco National Titles.

Kenneth Blackwell, Alex Facundo, and Manuel Rojas all won double titles, claiming the national championship in their age division for both freestyle and greco-roman.

Facundo, who wrestles for Team Donahoe and was a Border Wars All-American last year, won the freestyle title with a 4-0 record while giving up only one point in the tournament, which came to Antonio Segura of Colorado in the finals.

Rojas, also a member of Team Donahoe, won the title in both styles at 80lbs to cap of a solid season that saw him finish 2nd at the NUWAY Nationals and 1st at MYWAY States.

Another Team Donahoe member, Luke Stephens, won the national title in freestyle but fell just short in greco, finishing 3rd. Stephens, who is a returning Grappler Fall Classic Champion, scored two falls and two tech-falls en route to the Freestyle Title.
