2011 Grappler Fall Classic Preview
10/13 - The 2nd Annual Grappler Fall Classic is just around the corner and with that, MI Grappler High School Analyst Steve Widzinski has provided an in-depth breakdown of the favorites in each weight class in the High School Division. This year's high school field in a field that includes nearly 500 wrestlers from 11 different states. GFC Final Notes of Interest:
- Everyone coming to the tournament will need to enter Tecumseh High School on the South Side of the building in the main entrance
- 189/215/285 weight classes will begin wrestling no sooner than NOON on Saturday, so those wrestlers may plan accordingly.
- Live Video will be streaming on this site and MichiganGrappler.com.
- There will be skin checks at weigh-ins, make sure you have doctor notes for any possible skin issues.

GFC announces unique award for OW
9/23 - Michigan Grappler and The Grappler Fall Classic continue to push the envelope as one of the top Fall National
Events with the announcement of custom shoes as the award for this year's Outstanding Wrestlers in every divsion!
The OWs will each receive a pair of their very own all-gold Adidas Combat Speed wrestling shoes with "2011 GFC

Zac Hall coming back to defend the title
9/21 - Zac Hall, ranked as one of the Top pound-for-pound sophomores in the country, will be back this
year to defend his GFC Title. The returning state champ and 3x Fargo All-American is registered at 119lbs.
ASICS and WorldWide Sport on board as Title Sponsor!
9/19 - Asics and WorldWide Sport Supply have teamed with Michigan Grappler as Title Sponsors for the 2011 Grappler Fall Classic. Expect to see Asics and WWSport stuff on display in a major way at the GFC next month!
Hotel Information for 2011 Grappler Fall Classic available
9/14 - Michigan Grappler is pleased to announce that the host hotel information for the 2nd Annual Grappler Fall Classic is now posted. The Holiday Inn & Splash Universe Waterpark in Dundee are on board as a host hotel this year, offering families a fun weekend of waterpark fun to go along with the great wrestling. High School Late Registration now Open!
9/12 - The Early Registration Period is over for the High School Division, meaning that now anyone grade 7-12 is open to register. During the Early Registration period, nearly 200 wrestlers from 10 different states got registered, including 80 all-state wrestlers and 20 State Champions! DCC Super Star Trio Registers!
9/7 - Three big time names from Michigan powerhouse Detroit Catholic Central got registered this week for the Grappler Fall Classic. State Champs Ken Bade (130), Logan Marcicki (140), and runner-up Kevin Beazley (189) are all in it to win it for the Grappler Fall Classic! Marcicki was a double Cadet All-American in Fargo last summer, Beazley was a double Fila Cadet All-American, Junior Greco-All-American, and Flo National Runner-Up, while Bade was a placer at the FloNationals.
Hall, Uhre among Floridians coming to GFC
8/30 - The 2nd Annual Grappler Fall Classic got some Southern flavor this week as a large group of wrestlers from south Florida registered, including Fargo All-Americans Shiquan Hall and Alex Uhre of St Thomas Aquinas High School. Hall was a Florida State Champ in 2010 and Uhre is a returning Grappler Fall Classic Runner-Up. Click below to see the list of All-State wrestlers registered for the Grappler Fall Classic.
Lambert, Weissand, Cooks registered
8/29 - Tim Lambert of Forest Hills Eastern became the 5th Top 100 recruit in the country to register for the Grappler Fall Classic. Lambert, a 3x All-Stater who finished 3rd at the Junior Freestyle Nationals last summer, is regsitered at the 119lb weight class. Other recent entries include D1 State Runner-Up Jake Weissand
and one of the top sophomores in the country, Jordan Cooks, who are both registered at 152lbs.
2x State Champ Jordan Thomas registered at 171
8/12 - One of the Michigan's best, Jordan Thomas of Greenville, registered today for the Grappler Fall Classic. Thomas, a 2x MI State Champ and 4x Freestyle All-American in Fargo, is registered at 171 where he will be the likely favorite to bring home the title. Iowa Standouts Hathaway, Laux, Koethe, Bauer, and Pelfrey registered!
8/10 - Just over a week into the Grappler Fall Registration process and already a large number of highly acclaimed wrestlers from all over the country are registered. Last weekend a group of all-state wrestlers from Iowa City, Iowa registered in the high school division, highlighted by returning 119lb champion Jack Hathaway.
Hathaway, a returning state champ and FILA Junior National Runner-Up, is registered at 130 for the Fall Classic. Other big name Iowa entries include double Fargo All-Americans Phil Laux (112) and Justin Koethe (160). State Runner-Up Dakota Bauer (130) and Fargo All-American Mickey Pelfrey (215) also registered from the Hawkeye state.

3/31 - As the 2010-11 High School season concludes, Michigan Grappler would like to congratulate all the Grappler Fall Classic participants from last year who went on to Post-season success this year. We added up the numbers and among the nearly 400 wrestlers who competed in last year's Grappler Fall Classic,105 of
them went on to earn High School All-State Honors including 21 wrestlers who won the ultimate - a State Championship! Numbers don't lie - Champions start their season at the Grappler Fall Classic!

This year's event will open doors for the nation's top Elementary and Middle School wrestlers to compete as well!
