Who's Back: The Shamrocks return eight state placers in 2018, including three state champions - Ben Kamali, Kevon Davenport, and Cameron Amine. Three additional state qualifiers also are back in Joe Urso, Aidan Wagh, and Easton Turner.
Darkhorses: A handful of guys saw time last year in the lineup but didn't get a chance to really showcase themselves in the postseason. Expect Daniel Rehfeldt, Logan Sanom, Rory Cox, Brendin Yatooma, and Steven Kolcheff to all turn in solid seasons for Coach Hancock's squad.
Newcomers: Transfer Josh Edmond came over from Orchard Lake St. Marys after placing 2nd in Division 2 as a freshman last year. Back at 135, he begins the year ranked number one in a new division. Another guy who'll likely see time at a number of weight classes is Dominick Lomazzo. Uber successful on the youth circuit, Lomazzo turned in a great performance at the IndianaMat Hoosier Preseason Open and seems like he'll be a big asset for the Shamrocks.

Who's Back: Seven All-Staters return for Coach Hall this year, including 2x State Champ AJ Facundo. From 152-285 everyone has been to the state tournament at least once, so that experience will be very valuable as the season carries on. Andrew Chambal will likely return at 103 as the favorite to win it all.
Darkhorses: Out last year with an injury, Gabe Ellis should be back in the lineup for the Cardinals for his senior season. A state qualifier in 2016, he could see time at either 189 or 215 and will provide a boost to the back half of the lineup. Incoming freshman James Johnston doesn't show up in any of the preseason rankings and that's purely due to a lack of high school experience at the weight. He's one of the top freshmen prospects in the state, however. Last season he won Double National Schoolboy Titles.
Newcomers: He's only really a newcomer to the Davison High School team, but everyone else in the state knows Alex Facundo. A Cadet Folkstyle and Freestyle National Champ, Facundo is the number one overall freshman prospect in the state, perhaps the country. He starts the year off as the number one 145 pounder in Division 1 after winning the Grappler Fall Classic.
