101-1 Midland Dow - 6pm
#2 Davison vs Flushing
Bay City Western vs Traverse City West

Both Davison and Bay City Western have traditionally strong programs, Davison however is just too much to handle this year for coach Isaiah Thomas and his Warriors. Bay City Western will give a good fight but it won’t be enough to carry them past the might Cardinals of Davison. Prediction: Davison by 20+

102-1 Rochester-Adams - 5pm
Utica Eisenhower vs Rochester Adams
#4 Oxford vs Clarkston

Utica Eisenhower and Rochester Adams should have a good first round match with each other. On the other side, Clarkston and Oxford will be battling it out for a shot at a regional finals berth. Either team that wins should handily win this regional. As far as history goes, the teams met earlier in the year during the OAA where Oxford won 35-30. Expect a similar result this time around with a better Oxford team that has Sergio Borg back in the lineup. Prediction: Oxford by 8

103-1 Grand Rapids-Forest Hills Central - 5:30pm
Caledonia vs #10 Rockford
Grandville vs Grand Haven

One of the most intriguing regional match ups in Division 1 may happen in the finals here. Grandville and Grand Haven have wrestled this year with Grandville winning 48-21. Rockford beat Caledonia this year as well by a score of 49-18. It is expected that both Grandville and Rockford will move on to meet up in the finals. This will be a rematch of their dual from the OK-Red season where Rockford shocked Grandville beating them by a score of 34-27. The real question is, can they do it again? The magic 8 ball says ‘It’s Unlikely” Prediction: Grandville by 3

104-1 Holt - 6pm
#7 Brighton vs Grand Ledge
Holt vs Portage Northern

Another great regional, #7 Brighton and unranked Grand Ledge meet in the first round. Grand Ledge knocked off Brighton last year and is looking for the upset again. The comets put 11 through the individual regional last Saturday in comparison to Brighton’s 12. These teams are fairly evenly matched; it may come down to the flip. In the other regional semifinal Holt is set to wrestle Portage Northern, in what should be a rout. Expect to see Holt and the winner of the Grand Ledge/Brighton matchup in the final. Prediction: Brighton over Grand Ledge by 3, Brighton over Holt by 1

105-1 Westland-John Glenn - 5:30pm
Wyandotte Roosevelt vs #6 Westland John Glenn
Temperance Bedford vs Saline

Westland John Glenn and Bedford are in a collision course with one another. Bedford beat Saline earlier in the year by a convincing margin and John Glenn just came off a victory over a tough Walled Lake Central team to win the KLAA. While the tradition of Bedford is strong, the pace that John Glenn has set might be a bit too much. Prediction: John Glenn by 6

106-1 Salem
#1 Detroit Catholic Central vs Salem - 5:30pm
Livonia Franklin vs Dearborn Fordson

Lengthy prediction not needed here. Prediction: CC by 50+

107-1 Walled Lake Central - 5:30pm
Warren Mott vs Southfield A&T
#8 Walled Lake Central vs #5 Hartland

Walled Lake Central beating Hartland may have been a surprise to many, but if you’ve been paying attention you know that WLC has been quietly growing one of the strongest programs in the state. Coach Al Freeman takes his wrestlers all over the state in search of good competition throughout the spring and summer and now it is paying off for the Vikings. The real question is, can Hartland make the necessary moves in order to overcome the 3 points? Time will tell but it seems that coach Cheney’s post season experience will show here. In the other semi-final Southfield A&T and Warren Mott will wrestle to see who gets the honor of taking on the Hartland/WLC winner. Taking Southfield in a close one. Prediction: Hartland over WLC by 3 and Hartland over Southfield by 40+

108-Fraser - 5pm
#9 Anchor Bay vs St. Clair Shores Lakeview
Fraser vs #3 Macomb Dakota

Anchor Bay and Dakota have been battling it out for the past few years to make it to the Team State quarterfinals. This year is no different, however Dakota continues to get better and better every year. This one will be close but unless something magical happens Dakota should win it rather handily. Prediction: Dakota by 10
