In a dual between two of the state's elite teams, the host Dundee Vikings took down the Davison Cardinals. The back-and-forth affair culminated with 140 lber Grant Ott securing a fall in the final match to pull out the 26-25 victory. Davison was deducted a team point during the dual and with both teams having one pin and two majors apiece, it's uncertain how it would've turned out. Nevertheless, it was an exciting match that featured some great matchups.

In an assembly dual hosted by John Glenn, the Rockets took out 5th ranked Oxford. After Oxford built a 12-6 lead, Glenn strung together four straight pins from top-10 ranked Caleb Meekins, Kyle Borthwell, Mike Mars, and Isaac Lefler. Though Oxford would come back to win four of the next six bouts, it wasn't enough as WJG came out with the 39-31 mild upset.

D2 HM Eaton Rapids def. D2 #6 St. Johns, 33-31
An early season Capital Area rivalry went down with the Greyhounds of Eaton Rapids knocking off perennial power St. John's. The teams traded blows and both were noticeably missing some key guys but in the end ER came away with a 33-31 win and early bragging rights.

D2 HM Allendale def. D4 #7 Hesperia, 43-30
Upperweight upsets helped propel the always tough Allendale over Hesperia. In a battle of All-Staters, Allendale's Nate Wynsma scored a major decision over Trenton Gleason at 145. At 160, state champ Gerrit Yates was upended by Dillon Reeder by fall. All in all, the Falcons did enough to pull out the 43-30 win and get their season started on a high note.

It was business as usual for the defending state champs in Division One. The Shamrocks rolled to a big win over a solid Grand Ledge squad. Though there were competitive matches throughout the dual, the depth and firepower of DCC proved to be just too much as they came away the 62-3 victors.

WLC was noticeably depleted, being without Nick Freeman, Nick Onwenu, Tanner Bryan, and Justin VanVaerenbergh. However, a win is a win and hats off to Carlson for getting it done. The Marauders took eight of the 14 matches, winning five by fall.
