The 45th annual Pittsburgh. Wrestling Classic is set to go  down this evening on the campus of the University of  Pittsburgh.  Detroit Catholic Central seniors Kevon Davenport and Cameron Amine have been chosen to represent Team USA as they take on the best wrestlers Pennsylvania has to offer.

The Shamrock state champs are the 26th and 27th representatives from the state of Michigan, dating back to Mark Churella, who was the first in 1975.  Three times Michigan wrestlers have won the OW for Michigan, including Churella, Andre Metzger (1978), and Nick Simmons (2001).

Davenport, who is currently ranked fourth in the US, will take on number-one ranked Ryan Anderson of Bethlehem Catholic.  Anderson, an Iowa State commit, won two Pennsylvania state titles during his 117-12 career for BECA.  This year he won both the Beast of the East and the Walsh Ironman as well.

Second-ranked Amine's opponent is No. 3 Ryan Vulakh of Pope John Paul II, a state champ with a 107-12 career record.  Vulakh was also a Beast of the East champ this season, and a former Flonats runner-up. He'll continue his career at George Mason.

Action kicks off tonight at 6:00 pm on Flowrestling with the first dual being between the WPIAL and Team New York.  The main event, Team USA vs. Pennsylvania begins at 8:00 pm.
