14U Wrestler of The Year - Darius Marines

The 2018-19 Michigan Grappler Fab 50 season wrapped in the spring and among the elite group of youth wrestlers who took part in the Fab 50, middle school stud Darius Marines of Lansing was head and shoulders ahead of the pack.

Marines was spotless in all Fab 50 events, starting out the year with a GFC Middle School title and capping it off with a NUWAY National Title.

He dominated the MYWAY season and tore through the MYWAY State Tournament, going 4-0 with 4 first period falls en route to the state title.  He spent less than 3 minutes on the mat in his 4 matches at MYWAY State.

Watch Marines in action at the GFC below:

12U WOTY - Jaquan McMiller (Ruffin Trained)

McMiller had a brilliant MYWAY season en route to the 12U Wrestler of The Year honor.  He won the MYWAY Title at 183lbs with 3 first period falls, but it was his consistency at weekend MYWAY tournaments and the GREIGHTS series that led to his 143 Fab 50 points and WOTY honors.

Watch his MYWAY State Finals match below:

10U WOTY Maddie Hayden (Caledonia)

Maddie Hayden was not just one of the best female wrestlers in Michigan this year, she is also the MIG 10U WOTY beating out some pretty talented boys.  Hayden tore through the MYWAY State Tournament, pinning through the Girls tournament and the boys tournament, 4-0 with 4 pins over the boys in 10U 150lb bracket!  She also won the NUWAY National Title, Monster Medal, and Christmas Sparty among others throughout the season.

8U WOTY - Easton Fryover (Wildcat WC)

8U wrestler of the year Easton Fryover fell a match short of winning the MYWAY State Title, but he was very active in and out of state, winning the X-Mas Sparty tournament and placing at the NUWAY Individual Championships in Lousville, KY.
