Another Class of 2021 pickup for Michigan comes by way of Corvallis, Oregon as Chance Lamer will be headed to Ann Arbor next fall.

Lamer is a three-time Oregon state champion at Crescent Valley High School.  In 2017 he was a double finalist at Fargo, winning the 16U Greco title and finishing 2nd in Freestyle.  He also won the 16U Folkstyle national title and was 2nd at UWW Cadets in Freestyle in 2017.

The future Wolverine made his first age-level world team in 2018 when he won the UWW Cadet Freestyle title.  He would go on to place 5th at Cadet Worlds in Zagreb, Croatia.

Lamer comes from a wrestling-rich bloodline as his father, Chad, won three NCAA Division II national titles for South Dakota State and was a runner-up at both the US Nationals and World Team Trials as a competitor.  Brothers Brawley and Legend are also D1 wrestlers, competing for Cal Poly.

Currently ranked #6 at 132 pounds and the #68 recruit in the 2021 Class by Matscouts, Lamer will likely slot in somewhere in the middleweights between 149 and 165 pounds for the Maize and Blue.
