The other freshman to impress was Jaden Bullock in a loss to #3 Aaron Brooks. Bullock used a third period takedown to keep the match to a decision, which kept Michigan mathematically in the dual with two matches remaining. However, Michigan could not capitalize on a few close matches throughout the dual. At 125, Jack Medley lost to true freshman phenom Robert Howard in a 6-5 decision, who was making his college debut. At 157, Will Lewan gave up a takedown in the third period to lose to #9 Brady Berge 3-1. At 174 lbs, Logan Massa gave up nearfall in the tiebreaker to lose to #7 Carter Starocci.
