B1G Wrestling projected lineups for 2021-2022 season

Fresh off Olympic Gold, Gable Steveson may be the biggest name returner in Big Ten wrestling history.

Here is a look at potential/projected lineups for the B1G season.

Obviously these lineups are indeed projections and as wrestle-off results continue to pour in and competition gets underway in the next few weeks we will learn a lot more, but here is a good starting point of what to look for from the nation's premiere wrestling conference.

There is a great mix of returning star-power and young, new talent.

Every NCAA athlete was granted an extra year following last year's COVID season, so all ten B1G champions from last year are slated to return this year:  Spencer Lee (Iowa), Roman Bravo-Young (Penn State), Jaydin Eierman (Iowa), Sammy Sasso (Ohio State), Ryan Deakin (Northwestern), Alex Marinelli (Iowa), Michael Kemerer (Iowa), Aaron Brooks (Penn State), Myles Amine (Michigan), and Gable Steveson (Minnesota).

Among the new faces to look for this year include, but certainly are not limited to: Braxton Amos of Wisconsin (Freshman), Alex Facundo of Penn State (Freshman), Pat Brucki of Michigan (grad transfer), and Max Dean of Penn State (transfer).

Iowa is the front-runner in the B1G, as they won the conference and NCAA tournaments last year, and they return all ten starters. Powerhouses Penn State and Michigan are also trophy contenders and will look to uproot the Hawkeyes.

Check back in the next week as Big Ten Weight Class and Team Rankings will be released on GrapplerGold.com.
