WRESTLER OF THE YEAR - ELIANA BOMMARITO (HARTLAND)

Eliana Bommarito capped off a fantastic high school career with another girl's state championship, as she became the first female wrestler in Michigan history to win four state championships. She won her first three titles under Michigan Wrestling Association, and then she won her fourth this year in MHSAA's first sponsored girls state tournament.

This year, she pinned her way through the state tournament, only leaving the first period once. She continued her dominance into this year's Junior Women's Freestyle national championships. She captured a championship there for a second consecutive year. This time, she used four pins, including a pin in the finals, to cap off her high school career. She finishes ranked #1 nationally at 225lbs and #7 overall in the pound-for-pound rankings. Bommarito will continue her career this fall at Indian Hills Community College in Iowa.
