St Johns senior Ian Parker is the latest big time Michigan recruit to announce his college plans, and like a few other big names from this year's class, he will be leaving the state for college.

Parker announced his commitment late last week to wrestle for Coach Kevin Jackson (a Michigan native) at Iowa State University.

Parker, the #5 ranked overall wrestler in Michigan's class of 2016, is the final of the top 5 to commit and now makes 4 of the top 5 leaving Michigan for college (Schroder-Purdue, Storr-IA State, Dean-Cornell), and joins #2 ranked recruit in Michigan Kanen Storr as a Cyclone.

Parker has been consistent throughout his career competing and placing at major national tournaments. Just on the freestyle and greco scene alone, Parker has All-Americaned at 7 major national events in the last two and half years, including a 4th place finish in Fargo in the Junior Freestyle 120lb weight class last summer.

This weekend he looks for his first ever Grappler Fall Classic title and will be competing in the stacked 125lb weight class.  Watch Parker and all the studs at the GFC live on TrackCast this Saturday, October 17th.
