Thursday September 22 marks the historic start to the Inaugural season of the Michigan Girls Wrestling Association (MIGWAY). MIGWAY will hold its first dual meet competition Thursday night at Battle Creek Lakeview High School with a tri meet between Lowell, Imlay City and host Lakeview.
MIGWAY was established to facilitate school based dual meet wrestling meets between competing high schools across the state of Michigan. It provides dual meet competition in 7 weight classes from 90 lbs. thru HWT, as well as 11 weight classes for individual tournaments. The dual meet format, common among high school boys wrestling teams, was also expanded by MIGWAY to include 7th and 8th grade girls in order provide a greater pool of athletes available for participation.
The action At Battle Creek Lakeview will start at 6 pm; the schedule is as follows:
6:00 pm Round 1 Battle Creek Lakeview vs. Imlay City
TBD Round 2 Lowell vs. Imlay City
