Central Michigan solidified their first two recruits of the Class of 2018 Thursday night. The Chippewas scored a pair of quality guys, one from Michigan and one from Ohio.
The in-stater was Chelsea senior Corbyn Munson. Last season Munson finished 2nd at 125 in Division 2 for the Bulldogs. He followed that up with a summer full of competition, where he scored several high quality wins. More recently he placed 7th at the Grappler Fall Classic. He is projected to be a 141 pounder, but may find his way up to 149.
From Ohio, the Chips were able to score Zach Shupp, a lightweight from Fairfield. Shupp has placed the past two season in Ohio's big division, finishing 2nd last season and 6th as a sophomore. In April, he finished 4th at Flonationals. Shupp wrestled 106 a year ago, so not only does he project at 125, he may be a lifer there which is very valuable.
