The coaching staff is now complete for the University of Michigan heading into the 2019 season. Sean Bormet rounded out his staff with the addition of David Bolyard into the volunteer assistant role as well as helping with the Cliff Keen Wrestling Club. He joins Josh Churella and Kellen Russell who are in their seventh and fifth seasons as assistant coaches, respectively.
Bolyard had spent the past eleven seasons at Eastern Michigan, four of which as the Head Coach, before the unfortunate decision to drop the program earlier this spring. At the conclusion of the 2018 season, he was named MAC Coach of the Year and was a finalist for NWCA National Coach of the Year. He helped guide five wrestlers to the NCAA tournament and Sa'Derian Perry became the school's first All-American since 1999.
